The iCan Bike program uses innovative, adaptive bikes and methods to teach children with special needs how to ride a conventional bike. The program was developed through research done by Dr. Richard E. Klein, a retired professor of mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois. The methods and equipment used by the program have helped over 86% of the children make the switch in just five days.
The goal of this camp is to teach children with special needs how to ride a conventional bicycle without training wheels. The camp consists of 5 sessions per day, each lasting approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. By Day 3, some campers start riding a 2-wheel bike with assistance, with the majority of them riding independently by the end of the 5-day camp.
